Introduction

Freckling - Pigment is placed in a freckled pattern, just below the surface of the skin. The freckle pattern and color will mimic natural placement and color is determined based on the each client’s undertones. The freckle pattern is determined through a pre-draw in which Rachel will draw the desired freckled effect on your skin using a PMU pencil for approval prior to tattooing.

Annual Refresh - If you have previously been Freckled by Rachel and are ready for a refresh, the fee is $200 if the touch up is performed within 16 months of the initial application. This service does not include a perfecting touch up; however, if you would like to reserve a touch up, the fee will be an additional $80.

***

Old PMU - The freckling over existing tattoos requires an in house consultation or an image to be sent to Rachel. In most cases, if you were freckled by another PMU artist, you will need two applications to achieve your desired results.

BASIC INFORMATION

Freckle tattooing is a manual, semi-permanent technique of hyper-realistic freckling of the face and/or neck and chest. The freckle pattern is determined through a pre-draw in which the desired freckled effect on your skin using a PMU pencil.

Pain during the treatment is relative. Scared guests usually feel stronger pain, while the other guests compare such pain with the one that they feel when plucking out their eyebrows. In addition, it is not recommended to do the treatment while menstruating due to an increased sensitivity to pain.  Light anesthetics, in the form of cream and/or gel, are used to eliminate some sensitivity during the procedure if no allergy is present.

Pigment is applied using a PMU tattoo gun within the surface layers of the dermis. Pigment is determined according to the natural undertones of the guest’s skin. After healing, pigment can become several nuances brighter compared to the original color.

Treatment is done by using sterile and disposable tools and pigments are of the highest standard (PhiBrows pigments). After six weeks of recovery, you will return to the studio for your perfecting touch up application. Inserted pigment is very dark during the first 5 to 7 days. Seven days later, it loses up to 40% of its intensity. If you think that pigment is too dark, do not try to fade it by yourself.

The duration of pigment retention in your skin depends on the skin oiliness. The more emollient the skin, the shorter pigment retention will be. Immediate sweating and sun exposure also affect pigment retention.  On average, expected time until new refreshment of pigment is 12-16 months. If the skin is oily, it may be needed within 6 months. Healing is usually completed 28 days later.

Post-treatment care makes 70% of total treatment success. Conscientiously adhere to the aftercare advice as provided by the artist.

How successful the treatment will be depends on:

  • skin quality

  • post-treatment care

  • exposure to various external influences

None of these factors are under the Artist’s control, thus providing any guarantee for the treatment is not possible.

Please consult with your artist if you:

  • have problematic skin

  • have serious health issues

  • take certain medications

  • already have an old PMU on your eyebrows

Complications are possible and include, but are not limited to the following: discomfort, scabbing, bruising, swelling, scarring, allergic reaction, infection, pigment migration, color/change, sensitivity in the tattooed area, Sarcoidosis, Koebner, Ectropion, eyelid necrosis, the loss of eyelashes and secondary cicatricial ectropion. It is also important to note that botulin toxin and/or filler injection and plastic surgery of the face can change the appearance and lead to the distortion of PMU.

Before each treatment, the skin should not be burnt, nor in recovery or regeneration process. It is recommended that you become familiar with the post-treatment aftercare.

  • Botox and fillers
